Tógadh S.N. Sheosaimh i mbaile fearainn Buaile Beag sa mbliain 1891 mar scoil dhá oide. Ba é an tine oscailte an coras teasa agus bhí na leithris faoin spéir ar chul na scoile. D'fhreastal scolairí ón gceantar magúird agus ó Rathún ar an scoil i dtús. De réir a cheile tháinig meadú ar an tinreamh agus i 1993 cuireadh leathnuchán trí sheomra ranga nua aimseartha agus seomra foirne leis an scoil. Lean an meadú ar an tinreamh ar aghaidh agus sa mbliain 2000 béigin seomra reamhdéanta a sholathar le freastal ar an líon daltaí. Inniu tá foireann teagaisc de sheachtar muinteoirí, triúr cuiditheoir ranga agus rúnaí ag obair sa scoil.
I rith na mblianta mheadaigh ar áiseanna na scoile agus táimid an-bhródúil as an bpáirc imeartha breá a réitiodh ar chúl na scoile. Tá tabhacht an áis seo le brath ar na torthaí suntasacha a bhain foirne na scoile amach sna comórtaisí aitiúla, condae agus uile Eireann.
Is i dtreise atá S.N. Sheosaimh ag dul agus é do rún ag an mbord Bainistíochta seomraí breise buan a chur leis an scoil chun freastal ar riachtanaisí na linne seo.
School History
Scoil Naomh Sheosaimh was built in 1891 and initially was a two teacher school. An open fire was the main source of heat and toilets were outside. Pupils came from Rahoon and the surrounding areas in the early years of the school. Gradually the numbers grew and in 1993 a three classroom and staff room extension was built onto the original school. The increase in pupil numbers continued and in 2000 a prefab was added to accomodate growing numbers. At the moment we have a staff of seven teachers, three Special Needs Assistants and a secretary.
Over the years our resources also increased and we are very proud of our pitch which was built at the back of the school. The importance of the pitch is to be seen in the success of our school teams in local, provincial and national titles.
Our school is constantly growing and it is the intention of the Board of Management to build permanent classrooms to accomodate our increasing numbers.
