Le blainta beag anuas ghlac Buaile Beag páirt san cuigear a taobh sacar, a thosaíonn go háitiuil ansin go craobh cuige agus craobh na hEireann. Táimid brodúil gur bhuaigh muid an craobh naisiúnta , craobh cuige agus cúpla craobh condae.

Over the past number of years Buaile Beag have entered the EA sports 5-a-side competiton (formerly Ribena 5-a-sides) which begins at local level, proceeds to provincial level and successful entrants continue onto national level. Buaile Beag is proud to hold a national title, two provincial title and quite a few county titles!

E.A. Sports Schools Cup - Galway

On the 16th of April the EA Sports Schools Cup was on in Drom. We went as All-Ireland Champions to Drom and we were hoping to do well in this leg of the competition. Our fisrt encounter was against St. Endas and we knew it wasn't going to be easy.
Despite winning 2-0, we played badly and we had to improve our game if we wanted to win our next match agianst Cregmore. We did just that!
We won the game. Our next game was against the Claddagh. We won that game 5-2.
Then we had a huge break to have our lunch. The draw was going to be made on pitch 1. We were in luck. We got a bye straight into the semi-final against Gaeil Scoil Mhic Amhlaigh. They were putiting pressure on us, but we defended brilliantly. That was a really tough game with both teams pressing each other and the only way either of us was going to score was a quick counter attack. Then it happened, we were awarded a penalty but the keeper got a foot to it. It was still 0-0. The game went into extra time. In the first half of extra time there was no excitment. In the second half we managed to hit the football in the bottom corner of the net. We went crazy, it was a great day. Rang a Sé

EA Sports Schools Cup - Connaught

On the 28th April 2008 eight boys from our school went up to Drom to play the EA sports 5-A-side soccer competition. We left the shool at 10:30. When we got to Drom we started doing our warm up and then we went to watch the othe rgame in our group Mayo aginst Roscommon. Roscommon won. We had to play Sligo in our first game. We started the game attacking well, we scored three goals before half time with a final score of 4-0.
Then we played leitrim. Again we started the game attacking well and sealed a comfortable win. Then we had a break. Our next game was against Roscommon, the game started with each side using counter attacking football. Roscommon were first to hit the net. In the second half we pushed on looking for an equaliser but as hard as we tried we couldn't find that goal. The game ended 1-0 .
In the final game we played Mayo. We started the game well and went in at halftime with 3-0 lead. In the second half Mayo scored a goal, but our final goal secured the match.
We went to the presentation to get our runner-up medals. Then we went home, it was an exciting day.
